Safeguarding & Welfare.
The Karate and Dance Federation is committed to promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all members, regardless of age, gender, background, or ability. We believe that the safety and well-being of our participants is paramount, and we take every necessary step to protect children, young people, and vulnerable adults involved in our activities.
Our safeguarding policies and procedures are designed to ensure that all individuals within the federation have access to safe and positive experiences, free from harm, abuse, or neglect. This includes providing clear guidelines for reporting concerns, ensuring that all coaches, instructors, and volunteers are appropriately trained and vetted, and fostering a culture of respect and care in all aspects of our programs.
We are dedicated to continuously improving our safeguarding practices and maintaining a supportive, respectful atmosphere where everyone can thrive in their martial arts or dance journey.
Your safety and well-being are our priority.

Where safety comes first.
At the Karate & Dance Federation, the safety and wellbeing of every child, young person, and adult is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a secure, supportive, and professionally managed environment where all members feel safe, respected, and able to thrive.
Safeguarding is embedded into every aspect of our provision. All staff are appropriately trained and follow clear safeguarding procedures, ensuring that any concerns are identified, recorded, and acted upon in line with best practice. We promote a culture of openness, where children and adults feel confident to speak up, knowing they will be listened to and supported.
Our sessions are designed not only to develop skills, but to support emotional wellbeing. We recognise that confidence, behaviour, and engagement can vary, and we actively create environments that are calm, inclusive, and responsive to individual needs.
A key part of our approach is the use of our orange lanyard system. Staff wearing orange lanyards are clearly identifiable as designated safeguarding and wellbeing leads within sessions. This ensures that children, parents, and visitors can easily recognise who to approach if they have a concern, need support, or require guidance. This visible system reinforces our commitment to accessibility, transparency, and immediate support.
We continuously review and strengthen our safeguarding practices to ensure the highest standards are maintained. At KDF, safety is not just a policy — it is a culture that underpins everything we do.
